What Indus Metrics is

A set of calculators for engineers, technicians and managers in industrial utilities, maintenance and production.

How calculations are validated

Water and steam properties come from IAPWS-IF97. Friction, convection, valves and heat exchangers were checked against open engineering libraries (fluids and ht by Caleb Bell) and U.S. Department of Energy tables; reliability, statistics and inventory against NumPy, SciPy and published examples. Each page shows the equations and references used.

Project payback

Where there are savings, the site builds the cash flow with annual energy price escalation and computes NPV at your hurdle rate, IRR, simple and discounted payback, and benefit/cost ratio.
