Formulation & filling

Batch formula scaling and cost, recipe costing, solution blending and filling.

Batch formula and cost

Scale a formula in percent or from a pilot batch to a batch set by weight, volume or container count, with q.s., normalization, losses, blend SG and scale resolution; get the weighing sheet (with or without costs), active content and cost per pound, per gallon and per container, with an ingredient Pareto.

Weighing sheet, q.s., cost

Recipe cost card

Build a recipe card by pasting ingredients with as-purchased amount, yield factor and pack price; work out yield from the cooking factor, cost per portion and per pound, the menu price with divisor and multiplier markup and the food cost percentage, and print a production sheet without costs.

Blending and strength correction

Work out how much of two solutions or ingredients at strengths A and B to blend to reach C (Pearson square), how much concentrate or diluent to add to correct a batch, and the strength of up to 4 blended batches, in % w/w, °Brix or g/L, with volumes from specific gravities.

Filling and overfill

Work out how many units a batch fills after heel and losses, the tolerable negative error T (OIML R 87) or your NIST HB 133 MAV, the minimum overfill for your filler’s spread, the bottles, caps, labels and cases to pull, filling hours and product given away each year.
