Reliability

MTBF, MTTR, availability and reliability, life data analysis with Weibull, lognormal and exponential (B10, warranty), equipment redundancy and FMEA with RPN and Action Priority.

MTBF, MTTR and reliability

Calculate MTBF, MTTR, failure rate, inherent availability and the probability of running without failure, with a Weibull fit from times between failures and B10 life.

Failure rate, R(t), Weibull, B10

Life data analysis (Weibull) New

Analyzes how long a component lasts before failing, even when some units have not failed yet, and turns it into B10 life, warranty risk and a test plan. Paste times to failure and the units still running (censored) to get the Weibull, lognormal, exponential or normal fit by maximum likelihood or LSXY, the probability plot with CI, distribution identification, B10 life and MTTF with intervals, Kaplan-Meier, supplier or lot comparison, expected warranty failures and a demonstration test plan.

Censored Weibull, B10, warranty

Redundancy and availability

Compare 1-of-1, 1-of-2, 2-of-3 and other arrangements by availability and downtime hours, including common cause failure, and calculate the payback of a standby pump or compressor.

Standby, k-out-of-n, common cause, payback

FMEA: RPN and Action Priority

Paste your FMEA sheet with severity, occurrence and detection to compute RPN and the AIAG-VDA 2019 Action Priority, see the Pareto, the S × O matrix and the effect of improvement actions.

RPN, high/medium/low AP, Pareto

G and T charts (rare events) New

Tracks whether rare defects, breakdowns or accidents are becoming more or less frequent by measuring the interval between them. For rare events, where a P or U chart would show almost only zeros: paste the event dates or the amounts between them and get the G (geometric) or T (Weibull or exponential) chart with probability limits, tests for special causes, cumulative events against expected, distribution fit, report card and annual cost.

Time between rare events

Fishbone diagram New

A fishbone (Ishikawa, or cause-and-effect) diagram helps the team list, organize and prioritize every possible cause of a problem before acting, so it does not just chase the first idea. List the causes by category (6M or your own categories) with sub-causes, votes and status, and the page draws the fishbone automatically, highlights the prioritized causes, builds the Pareto of causes, records the 5 whys down to the root cause and exports PNG, SVG and A4 landscape PDF.

Cause and effect, 6M, 5 whys

Pareto chart New

A Pareto chart sorts problems from largest to smallest and shows which few causes account for most of the defects, stoppages or costs, so you know where to start. Paste the categories with their counts (or the list of occurrences) and the page draws the Pareto chart with the cumulative curve and cut-off line, points out the vital few, groups “Other”, compares frequency vs cost, Pareto by stratum and before vs after, and exports PNG, one-page PDF and xlsx.

Vital few, 80/20, cost, strata
